A tangential belt (also known as tangential drive belt, spindle tape, or dragon belt) is a specialized flat belt used to transmit power in textile spinning machinery. Unlike traditional V-belts, tangential belts provide smooth, efficient power transmission across multiple spindles simultaneously.
How It Works
The belt runs tangentially across a series of spindles, driving each one through friction contact. This design offers several advantages:
