The belt dimensions are not universal across G3

Zünd G3 comes in multiple table widths and lengths, and the belt is cut to match. A belt for a G3 M table will not fit a G3 L or 3XL. One aftermarket supplier lists a typical G3 M belt at roughly 1380 × 8960 mm, but this should be verified against your specific machine configuration rather than assumed .

For the wider G3 3XL-3200, aftermarket belt listings show lengths around 8100 mm to 17650 mm depending on extension configuration, with widths around 3260 mm . A separate listing for the G3 3XL-3200 shows a belt at 3584 mm wide and 3.0 mm thick .

The practical takeaway: the model number on the machine (G3 M-1600, G3 L-2500, G3 3XL-3200) determines the belt size, and “G3” alone is not enough to order correctly. If you have the old belt, measuring it is faster and safer than cross-referencing model tables.

What the G3 does to a belt that generic specs miss

The G3 platform runs oscillating knives, high vacuum draw, and repetitive blade penetration. That combination creates three failure modes that show up before the belt looks worn.

Compression under vacuum. The felt structure collapses slowly under constant vacuum pressure. Airflow drops, hold-down weakens, and small parts start shifting. Higher-density needle-punched felt resists this better than standard grades. Specs worth confirming with a supplier

Thickness is not the whole story. G3 replacement belts are commonly offered at 2.5 mm to 3.0 mm for standard configurations , but thickness alone doesn‘t tell you how the belt will behave under vacuum or how long it will hold flatness.

Ask for density and compression data. A belt that compresses unevenly will produce inconsistent Z-depth and vacuum hold regardless of its initial thickness.

Confirm the splice. A wedge splice holds better under repeated flexing and keeps the cutting surface continuous. Pre-spliced endless belts with alignment marks reduce installation downtime to under 30 minutes .

Ask about flatness tolerance. A belt that isn‘t flat across the width will cause uneven blade wear and tracking issues. A tolerance of ≤0.3 mm/m is a reasonable benchmark for precision cutting .
